Product Details
After 9/11, members of the local New York ironworkers unions undertook a very personal project. Using reclaimed structural steel from the World Trade Center buildings, girders that once held up the twin towers, they cut out a series of crosses, stars of David, and hearts (I guess for the non-Judeo-Christians.) These were presented to the victims' family members -- in many cases, it was the only physical keepsake loved ones received from Ground Zero, something they could touch and hold and remember the dead by.
