It's a great hat, but in the description I couldn't tell if it had a solid back or a mesh back. The answer: solid. This means that my dad loved the hat with the pictures of his grand kids on it, but wasn't willing to wear it in the summer heat. In winter he has it on a lot :). Pros: Great, clear print quality, looks like a patch on the hat. Solid enough for winter chill. Cons: If you're looking for a light hat, this may not be the right choice.
